JVN Client Interview Studio™
Interview realistic AI clients across criminal, commercial, contract, corporate, employment, environmental and climate law, family, human rights, immigration and refugee law, intellectual property law, conflict of laws and private international law, consumer protection, medical and digital health law, artificial intelligence and technology law, and clinical practice areas. They reveal facts gradually. They get emotional. They expect a professional. When the interview ends, the AI switches roles and becomes your Clinical Supervisor — asking the questions that turn experience into competence.
How to run a client interview
Every Studio follows the same clinical rhythm. You will not be asked to know all the law — you will be asked to elicit facts, spot issues, and give humane, professional advice.
- 1Pick a practice area
Choose from criminal, family, employment, IP, immigration, health, AI/tech and more. Read the case brief and objectives before you enter.
- 2Meet your AI client
The client reveals facts gradually and gets emotional. Build trust, ask open questions, and take notes as you go.
- 3Advise and reflect
Identify legal issues, give initial advice, then answer Socratic reflection prompts from your AI Clinical Supervisor.
- 4Get your competency report
Graded against nine cross-border lawyer competencies. Saved to your Skills Passport™ and Portfolio.
The 10-stage clinical workflow
Each Interview Studio runs the full Clinical Legal Education cycle — preparation, practice, reflection, and supervision — followed by a structured competency report and a portfolio entry you can show employers.

How the AI client behaves
- • Speaks like a real person — not a script.
- • Reveals facts gradually as trust is built.
- • Becomes emotional when the matter is personal.
- • Withholds sensitive information unless asked with care.
- • Does not give itself away as an AI.
Then the role switches
- • The same AI becomes your Clinical Supervisor.
- • It asks Socratic, reflective questions instead of feeding answers.
- • It cites your own words and notes back to you.
- • It highlights strengths first, then growth areas.
- • Your performance is graded against nine cross-border lawyer competencies.
